Note
Archival Notes This series appears to have been compiled during the process of writing and publishing the booklet 'Official Opening West Wing City Hall Geelong August 15, 1969'. Many of the papers, notes, plans and photographs listed below have been reproduced in the booklet. Item 1 includes important original documents from 1855 (these will require further conservation and digitisation work to enable them to be accessible to the public). Item 2 includes copies of council minutes, plans with a survey of the building describing portions to be demolished and added to, 2 copies of the published booklet and a number of folders with historical notes used in writing the booklet. Items 3 to 15 contain images and photographs mainly depicting the pre-demolition, demolition and renovation at City Hall during 1968 and 1969. Most of the potographs were taken by Ian Hawthorne with some supplementary photos by Robert Pockley. Access Status Item 1 is closed. Due to its extremely fragile nature the item will need to be photographed before access will be granted.
